Last night, CAW was presented with two Honor Awards by the AIA San Mateo County at a ceremony held at the Poplar Creek Grill at Coyote Point. Sequoia High School’s new LEED-Platinum Gymnasium won in the “Public Architecture” category, and our new modular high school campus on Myrtle Street in East Palo Alto won in the “Effective Architecture” category. Jurors were Larry Strain of Siegel & Strain Architects, Janet Tam of Noll & Tam Architects, and Ron Ronconi of CAS Architects, Inc. Thank you to our wonderful client for both projects Sequoia Union High School District!

We are pleased to announce that last Wednesday, October 17, our Myrtle Street High School Campus in East Palo Alto won a Merit Award in the Architecture Category of the AIA Santa Clara Valley design awards! Special thanks to our client Sequoia Union High School District and contractor Blach Construction Company for helping us make this wonderful project a reality.

An interview with Monty Anderson focusing on the City of Palo Alto – Public Agency’s historic preservation incentives is featured in this month’s issue of The Registry magazine. Local developers have taken advantage of such incentives in order to bring new lives to the historic buildings that are home to now thriving local businesses such as NOLA, The Wine Room Palo Alto, Coupa Cafe – Palo Alto, and the Old Pro.

CAW’s Peterson Building project, home of the Hasso Plattner Design Institute at Stanford University, has been awarded a Preservation Design Award by the California Preservation Foundation in the Rehabilitation category. The award will be presented in October at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

CAW was named the “Architectural Firm of the Year” by the San Jose Business Journal as part of their annual Structures Awards program held September 21 in San Jose. An article titled “Cody Anderson Wasney knows how to draw on success” will appear in the September 24th issue of the SJ Business Journal.
