This project is a bit of a game-changer for CAW, as it’s our first adaptive reuse of a non-theater space into a full, state-of-the-art modern theater, and to our knowledge, the first “Art Gym” in the world! And we’re giving an absolutely beautiful Bakewell and Brown building another 100 years of life.

The Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo has officially launched it’s $30 million Capital Campaign to fund its new facility, designed by CAW and expected to open in 2018. The JMZ Initiative is off to a strong start with a $15 million matching grant from the Peery Foundation designed to inspire others to give.

CAW was named the “Architectural Firm of the Year” by the San Jose Business Journal as part of their annual Structures Awards program held September 21 in San Jose. An article titled “Cody Anderson Wasney knows how to draw on success” will appear in the September 24th issue of the SJ Business Journal.

CAW’s Lorry Lokey Stanford Daily Building is featured in this month’s arcCA Magazine, in its article announcing the AIA Santa Clara Valley’s recognition of Stanford University with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

It has also been awarded a Preservation Design Award by the California Preservation Foundation in the Contextual Infill category. The award will be presented in October at the Getty Villa in Malibu, CA.
