Our client, a strategic investor, desired new office space in the heart of the Silicon Valley. To fill this need, CAW Architects transformed two floors of generic office space into a new collaborative office environment fitting the vision and culture of our client.
The design of their multi-floor space was inspired by the “left brain/right brain” nature of their particular business, and the building was divided in half, each with its own architectural expression: one side to support the engineer-driven developer activities, and the other to support more typical venture capital business activities. Perimeter offices with full acoustical privacy were designed with full height glass allowing light to penetrate deep within the square-shaped floor plan. Flexible and adaptable common spaces existing between the two groups encourage collaboration and interaction between the user groups. Glass film surfaces double as white-board space with conference rooms that visually connect to the lobby and circulation spine. The open-office lab area, built on a raised access floor for flexibility provides clean, open bench-style seating areas for lab work and equipment testing and prototyping. The use of rich colors, glass, clean ceiling detailing, and neutrals materials were specifically selected to match the culture of this company creating a sophisticated and timeless design.
The resulting project is a secure and flexible state of the art office space that supports the endeavors and mission of our client.
