>PROJECT INFORMATION
The Museum of American Heritage is a non-profit organization dedicated to early twentieth-century technology. The museum had existed in a number of locations around Palo Alto, but desperately searched for a permanent home to house its extensive collections. The historic Williams House, designed by renowned Bay Area architect Ernest Coxhead, had been bequeathed to the city by the Williams family for use as a public facility and park. With CAW’s help, the Museum was chosen from a field of other non-profits and given a long-term lease in exchange for the museum’s renovation of the Williams house
Long after it completed construction of the project, CAW has continued its involvement with the museum. Monty Anderson, one of the firm’s principals, has served on the museum’s Board of Directors and the city’s Community Advisory Board for more than ten years. The firm also continues to support museum programs, last year organizing a widely attended lecture series that ran in conjunction with an exhibit about the history of Sunset Magazine.
