Stanford University needed a new home to meet the growing operational needs of the Stanford Daily newspaper. A new site was dedicated along the historic Panama Mall portion of campus where existing buildings all share a common roof forms with clerestory monitors, stucco exteriors, and clay tile roofing. New buildings must fit the strict design standards dictated by the historic buildings and their relationship to the pedestrian mall.
CAW successfully integrated a contemporary building into the strict design parameters of this important piece of the historic Stanford campus. The new home provides for the paper’s continued operation and support, and reflects and supports the sense of pride that binds students and alumni of the newspaper.
