The rebuilding of the Scotts Valley Middle School will address numerous challenges: the need for additional teaching spaces, replacement of dilapidated portable buildings with permanent buildings, and enhanced visibility to the community. The campus perimeter is currently unsecured, and the administration building is separated from the parking lot and campus entrance, causing security and oversight concerns.
The new site plan will provide new pre-fabricated classroom buildings, three renovated buildings to house classrooms and a Multi-Purpose space, as well as new library, gymnasium/locker and modular administration buildings. An upgrade to the site plan and landscape will resolve accessibility issues but more importantly will create outdoor spaces that coherently tie the campus together as well as providing exterior gathering and learning spaces.
